General description
Albumin (UniProt: P02769; also known as BSA, Bos d 6) is encoded by the ALB gene (Gene ID: 280717) in bovine. Albumin is the most abundant circulating proteins present in the serum that serves as a carrier for various endogenous and exogenous substances, including fatty acids, hormones, bilirubin, and drugs. Albumin is a globular protein arranged in three homologous domains. Each domain contains multiple alpha-helices, contributing to the protein′s stability and solubility. It contains multiple binding sites, which allow it to interact with a wide range of molecules. It plays a crucial role in maintaining colloidal osmotic pressure and transporting nutrients and metabolites throughout the body. Its ability to bind and transport zinc makes it a major zinc transporter in plasma, typically binding about 80% of all plasma zinc. This ZooMAb® recombinant monoclonal antibody, generated by our proprietary technology, offers significantly enhanced specificity, affinity, reproducibility, and stability over conventional monoclonals.

Immunogen
KLH-conjugated linear peptide corresponding to 19 amino acids from the N-terminal half of Bovine Serum Albumin (BSA).
Application
Quality Control Testing
Evaluated by Western Blotting with purified bovine serum albumin (BSA).
Western Blotting Analysis: A 1:1,000 dilution of this antibody detected purified bovine serum albumin (BSA).
Tested Applications
Western Blotting Analysis: A 1:1,000 dilution from a representative lot detected BSA in purified phosphorylcholine derivatives of bovine serum albumin (PC-BSA).
Affinity Binding Assay: A representative lot of this antibody bound with BSA peptide with at least ten thousand-fold (10,000X) higher affinity than with non-specific control peptide.
Enzyme Immunoassay: A representative lot of this antibody detected BSA in ELISA application.
Note: Actual optimal working dilutions must be determined by end user as specimens and experimental conditions may vary with the end user.
Biochem/physiol Actions
Clone 3H2 is a ZooMAb® rabbit recombinant monoclonal antibody that detects Bovine Serum Albumin (BSA). It targets an epitope within 19 amino acids from the N-terminal half.
Physical form
Purified recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibody IgG, lyophilized in PBS with 5% Trehalose, normal appearance a coarse or translucent resin. The PBS/trehalose components in the ZooMAb formulation can have the appearance of a semi-solid (bead like gel) after lyophilization. This is a normal phenomenon. Please follow the recommended reconstitution procedure in the data sheet to dissolve the semi-solid, bead-like, gel-appearing material. The resulting antibody solution is completely stable and functional as proven by full functional testing. Contains no biocide or preservatives, such as azide, or any animal by-products. Larger pack sizes provided as multiples of 25 µL.
Preparation Note
300 µg/mL after reconstitution at 25 µL per vial. Please refer to guidance on suggested starting dilutions and/or titers per application and sample type.
Recommend storage of lyophilized product at 2-8°C; Before reconstitution, micro-centrifuge vials briefly to spin down material to bottom of the vial; Reconstitute each vial by adding 25 µL of filtered lab grade water or PBS; Reconstituted antibodies can be stored at 2-8°C, or -20°C for long term storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaws.
