General description
Product Source: N-terminal 6His-tagged, recombinant, human IRE1 amino acids 465-end expressed by baculovirus in Sf21 insect cells.
Senses unfolded proteins in the lumen of the endoplasmic reticulum via its N-terminal domain which leads to enzyme auto-activation. The active endoribonuclease domain splices XBP1 mRNA to generate a new C-terminus, converting it into a potent unfolded-protein response transcriptional activator and triggering growth arrest and apoptosis.

Physical form
Protein in 50mM Tris/HCl pH7.5, 300mM NaCl, 0.1mM EGTA, 0.03% Brij-35, 270mM sucrose, 1mM benzamidine, 0.2mM PMSF, 0.1% 2-mercaptoethanol. Frozen solution.

Routinely evaluated by phosphorylation of MBP.
