MM0299 is a cell penetrant, selective and potent inhibitor of lanosterol synthase (LSS) that exhibits anti-glioblastoma activity. It potently inhibits Mut6 (Glioblastoma stem-like cells) cell growth by depleting cellular cholesterol. MM0299 stimulates 24(S),25-epoxycholesterol (EPC) synthesis in GBM tumors, which induces toxicity in glioma stem-like cells.
