Biochem/physiol Actions

Uncharacterized protein KIAA0513 has been shown to interact with proteins like kidney and brain expressed protein (KIBRA), HCLS1 associated protein X-1 (HAX-1) and integrator complex subunit 4 (INTS4) which are involved in neuroplasticity, apoptosis and cytoskeletal regulation. It is likely to be involved in signaling pathways along with these proteins. KIAA0513 is seen up regulated in the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex of patients suffering with schizophrenia.
