General description
基因AFP（α胎蛋白）编码一种分子量为70kDa的血浆糖蛋白。该基因定位于人类4号染色体。该基因与血清白蛋白在进化上相关，血清白蛋白也定位于人类4号染色体。在胚胎卵黄囊和肝脏发育过程中，它是与血清白蛋白一起合成的。

AFP抗体通过靶向人AFP氨基末端附近的14个氨基酸多肽获得。
Application

Biochem/physiol Actions
αAFP基因编码的-胎蛋白可参与到胎儿和增生的成人肝细胞中脂肪酸的调节。在急性肝损伤中发现其表达有所提高，表明活跃的肝再生。它与脂肪肝疾病（FLD）相关，而这是一种可能导致肝硬化和肝细胞癌的疾病。它可作为HCC（肝细胞癌）的一种肿瘤标志物。
