General description
Mucin-4 (MUC-4) is a membrane-bound mucin with a very large glycosylated extracellular domain and a short cytoplasmic domain. It plays an important role in cell proliferation and differentiation of epithelial cells. It is expressed in a subset of normal epithelia and is overexpressed in many types of carcinoma such as lung, breast, digestive tract, biliary tract, colon, cervix and pancreas.

Synthetic peptide derived from the C-terminus of human MUC-4 protein.
