The GeneCatcher™ gDNA kits include GeneCatcher™ Magnetic Beads, Protease, Protease Buffer, GeneCatcher™ Lysis and Wash Buffers, and GeneCatcher™ Elution Buffer. All components of the GeneCatcher™ gDNA Blood Kits are shipped at room temperature. Upon receipt, store the protease at +4°C and the remaining kit components at room temperature. All components are guaranteed stable for 6 months when properly stored.

The GeneCatcher™ gDNA Blood Kits allow rapid and efficient extraction of genomic DNA (gDNA) from human blood, including archived or poorly stored blood samples. Genomic DNA is extracted from blood samples using the cost-effective, user-friendly magnetic bead based GeneCatcher™ Technology without the use of centrifugation (Figures 1,2).

High purity DNA for downstream processing DNA purified using GeneCatcher™ Technology provides a purity suited to highly reliable downstream processing. GeneCatcher™ purified DNA has been validated in many applications, including restriction endonuclease digestion (Figure 3), second generation multiplex and single tandem repeat (SGM+STR) profiling (Figure 4) and quantitative PCR (Figure 5).

GeneCatcher™ protocols - ready for automationGeneCatcher™ Technology has been optimized and designed for scalable and automated gDNA isolation from large blood samples using the Tecan Freedom EVO™ liquid handler (Figure 6), featuring:

• Fully scalable chemistry in batches of 8 (40 samples 3-10 ml blood samples per 8 hour day)
• High purity and yield of extracted genomic DNA yields between 300 µg - 500 µg per 10 ml sample

Lower elution volumes, resulting in concentrated DNA ideal for archiving in a standard microcentrifugetube
